Step by step with coquo

A coquo modular kitchen can be installed in a jiffy. No need to bother with a multitude of components to assemble, the modules are delivered pre-assembled. Invite a friend, order a pizza and you are ready to go!

BEFORE YOU START

The space must be ready to receive coquo furniture;
Invite friend(s);
Allocate about one day to do the work;
Make sure you have these tools:
- A level;
- A carpenter’s square;
- A pencil;
- The Coquo assembly instruction sheet for each module;
- A metre stick/measuring tape;
- The appropriate anchors for your type of wall. Anchors are not included, do not hesitate to ask for advice at your hardware store;
- A screwdriver;
- A notebook.

CHECK LIST : Make sure that…

you have received all the boxes on your packing list;
the boxes are in good condition, before unpacking the coquo furniture;
you have all the components listed on the assembly instruction sheet;
you have all the necessary tools for the installation.

PLAN THE INSTALLATION

You can add markings on the walls with a pencil to indicate the location of the cabinets;
Prepare the necessary space for appliances. Caution: do not forget to provide enough space to allow the opening of your fridge’s door;
Make sure that the location of plumbing and electrical items respects the standards of your region;
Using the level, check the level of the walls and floor and write down the information in the notebook;
Using the carpenter’s square, make sure that the adjacent walls are 90 degrees from each other.

INSTALLATION OF UPPER CABINETS

After having added your markings on the walls, it is suggested to start with the installation of the upper cabinets;
Make sure you have the appropriate anchors to affix them to the wall. Remember that the cabinets will also have to support their contents: dishes, glasses, etc.;
Install the docking bar using the level;
Make sure to level the cabinets by using the shims provided in your box;
The appropriate anchors must be screwed into the wall from inside the cabinet to ensure its stability.

INSTALLATION OF BASE CABINETS

Assemble the furniture quickly by using the pictograms of the assembly instruction sheet;
Position the cabinets side by side according to the predetermined plan;
After having determined the highest and lowest point of your floor, you will be able to know the height drop. This will be the starting point of your installation. Determine the height of the legs of each piece of furniture according to their location on the floor. The highest point of your floor level will be your starting point; start by screwing in all the legs of the first module to be installed. Adjust the legs according to the difference and make sure that the module is level. Your first module will be the reference point for the installation of the other modules;
Use the level when adjusting the legs;
Join the furniture with the clips provided for this purpose;
Insert the drawers and shelves into the furniture according to the specific assembly instruction sheet of each module.

We recommend a ½” to ¾” thick countertop for all of coquo modules.

GAUGE THE COUNTER SURFACE

Add-up the width of the cabinets;
Check if your coquo furniture is positioned against the wall or against a baseboard;
Be sure to plan for the space between the back of the cabinets and the wall, if applicable.
Provide ½” overhang at the front and both ends;
Use the template provided in your sink box to determine the location of the sink;
Determine the number of holes to be made to install the faucet and other accessories;
Use the cooktop template if needed;
Consult a professional to validate the measurements and carry out the work related to the installation of the counter.
